The schmid family
Karl Schmid and his wife Germana (née Seyr) were married in 1962 and have four children,
who are all active in various branches of the Karl Schmid Organisation.
Frau Schmid, who from the beginning actively supported her husband in his business undertakings,
was and still is largely responsible for the furnishings and fittings of Castle Rametz and the
extensive wine-growing museum. With love and devotion over many years Frau Schmid has collected
historical tools and implements relevant to wine-growing. With her husband Karl Schmid she shares
a passion for antiques and art. In their free time both indulge their love of nature and undertake extensive walks.
Son
Nikolaus studied at the renowned Bocconi University in Milan after his school - leaving examination, graduated
in Economics and is today the head of the Marketing Company
MVG Italia,
which retails goods of the Karl Schmid organisation and of international companies.
Stanislaus - the youngest member of the family - attended the agricultural college in St. Michele all' Adige and is
now studying at the University of Trient to become a doctor of oenology. He is responsible for the agricultural
and wine-growing side of the Karl Schmid Organisation.
Daughter
Brigitte is now the mother of four children and works in the administration of the
wine-growing estate Rametz Castle.
Angelika Schmid began law studies at the University of Padua but soon took charge of the running of
the
Spa Hotel Villa Eden and with her engagement and foresight
has contributed to the international reputation of the hotel.
